WE ARE HAVING A BABY!

We've dedicated this post to answer all your "What?!" "When!!" and "HOW?!"s.

First things first, yes... this precious thing was planned. Although we have the common stresses of any newlywed couple, we felt it was time. We prayed about it, and decided there was no reason to wait. We've been wanting a baby ever since we got married. Plus now we have this huge empty house, Eric has a good job close to home, and we are closed to our families. The excuses not to start our kingdom were running extremely low.

Exactly 4 weeks after we had officially "decided", I took a pregnancy test expecting it to come back negative. In fact, while waiting for the results I started to get really upset that I had even decided to take the test. I was wasting a test. There's probably no way I was pregnant...
(hormones already making me moody). The test came back positive!

I was in such shock and disbelief, that I ran downstairs and started chugging water so I could take another one!

I called Eric and asked him to come home for lunch. Before he did though, I ran to Target and bought this duck towel I had always wanted, some diapers and wipes. When he got home, I asked him if he would kill a spider that was in the "flower room" (now we just call it the "baby room"). He said sure, but when he opened the door to kill it, he found my Target goodies instead! We are so happy!!

I called my doctor to make my first appointment, and was able to get in the following day. And sure enough, the rumors are true! The baby's due date is March 28, 2012. GREAT news for our family... we hardly have any end of March birthdays. It will be a nice change. :D

We wasted no time in telling our parents. We couldn't wait! I made this shirt for Kennedy, and took her over to my mom's house. My mom, Brandi, and Melissa understood the shirt right away. My Dad, Jean, Grandpa and Brock had to have it explained to them. Before Jean understood, she said "What a stupid shirt to make". My Dad pretty much just ignored it.

We told Eric's mom and family with a "I Love Grandma bib". Safe to say, they all figured it out right away. We told Eric's dad with a picture of the positive test. Then Eric said "We're keeping it a secret for now. So don't tell anyone." He replied with "Okay, but does Breana know?"... We are still laughing about that one! Oh Steve.

Kim & Fernando were nice enough to give us one of the twin's crib and dresser. So we have picked those up already. They also sent us flowers and a bear. The baby's first present!

So today we went to the doctor's for the second time. This time we got to see the baby and hear his/her heart beat. We wanted to wait to fully announce it until we were further along... but we can't wait. We are SO excited, and could not be happier!!!

We are almost 8 weeks along. The baby is due March 28, 2012. Only 32 more weeks to go.

We have been in our PERFECT house just under two weeks, and we are EXHAUSTED.

We have spent nearly every free minute, painting, unpacking and organizing. We have accomplished a lot, but wanted to show you the rooms that have REALLY changed.

Graduating May 13th 2011 from Northern Arizona University

I remember it like it was yesterday. Mom and I were at NAU for freshman orientation, and she was teaching me how to ditch. Because she wanted to ditch one of the orientation classes. To this day, she claims I already knew how to ditch.... but I am still saying she taught me. I distinctly remember saying "Mom! We can't ditch". And she said "Breana, you're an adult now.... what are they going to do?". She taught me!

I remember when mom and I drove up to Flagstaff to be dropped off. Both of us fighting back tears, and scared for what lied ahead, we hardly said anything to each other when it was time for her to leave.

Looking back on the last four years, it's hard to say where the time has gone. I have definitely learned a lot... but really, I feel like I have learned nothing at all. When I graduated high school, I knew everything! Now I feel like I still have so much more to learn.

In the last four years I have....

Learned how to ditch classes from my mom.
Tried out for the NAU cheer squad
Got denied by the NAU cheer squad
Worked at a NBC affliate News Station - Channel 2 Flagstaff
Worked in Radio Promotions for Clear Channel
Worked in Radio Promotions for Bonneville
Held an internship with Fox-10 News Phoenix... (Never doing an internship again!!)
Worked at the Balloon Store
Worked in Radio Promotions for Great Circle Radio
Lived in six different apartments in Flagstaff.
Moved home once, and back out again.
Started my own business.
Took a million pointless classes (and maybe one or two NON-pointless ones).
Never got anything less than a B in my college courses.
Managed to commandeer my moms Chrysler Sebring :D Thanks Mom!!!
Spent a lot of time in the beautiful city of Sedona Arizona
Fell in and out of love
Before Marrying my best friend, Eric
Paid off a Kia Sorento
Bought a Dodge Neon
Travelled to St. Lucia
Spent all my savings
Bought stock
Wrote a million papers
Never read any of the "required text" for my classes
But did buy a LOT of them
Found out who my true friends really are

Adopted Theodore into our Family
And bought a house.

In the last four years, I have certainly accomplished many goals in my life. And I look forward to what the future might bring. And am grateful for what the past has offered.

DAD: Thank you for both the financial and emotional support during the years. Always helping me prepare for my job interviews, coming to Flagstaff to visit, and never letting me go without an apartment, or tuition money. And so much more. I love you Dad.

MOM: You supported me in ways no one else would ever be able to. Believing in me, no matter what I wanted to do. Also with all the trips to Flagstaff, all the grocery help every time I was down or you were up, all the long phone calls, listening to me cry and complain. Supporting me with my business, and helping me get clients. The gas money to come home on weekends that I wanted. Letting me use your car for 4 years. Coming up to visit when I was all alone. And taking care of my sick dog when I couldn't bare to get rid of her. And every other way you have supported me over the years. There are too many ways to count. Thank you so much, Mom. I love you.

Haha just kidding, there is more! Thanks for the support and help with my struggling classes. For believing in me to take the job at KAFF, and for taking the leap of faith and coming with me. For enduring the long hours of stress and tears over our financial budget and planning, despite your offers to be the one in charge of it. For all the rides to and from school. For all the late hours you put in at Maloney's from 10p-3a in the snow. For supporting us and all our needs. For supporting my business decision to quit my job and start my company. For always being a shoulder to cry on, and an ear to listen. For letting us get Theodore.... and for taking care of him! :D I love you honey.

Through all the years. All the stress. All the tears. And yes, even the blood (I crashed on a kid's bike freshman year and tore up my arm and leg). I am happy to say I am graduating Friday, May 13th, 2011. Some individuals in my class have made the comment: "We are going to be adults soon"... I don't know which of the 22 year old graduating seniors aren't already adults. But I will say that we are excited to open this new chapter in our adult hood.

Canning 101

This weekend, I decided to take a stab at canning. With my mother's help (okay, she basically did most of the work), we canned 10 pounds of chicken!

Which we have found!!!

This house is perfect! It is in San Tan Heights, has 4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, and is 2,500 square feet. I am in love with the floor plan! It is perfect for us!

The only thing that is nerve-racking is that Eric's job will line up. He has been interviewing with Chase and M&I, and we should find out if one of them is a go this week!

Been busy with stuff. Praying everything works out!

Sad Shoe Story

Once upon a time, we were traveling through the mall looking for bridesmaid shoes. When I came across the PERFECT PAIR!

Style&co. Shoes, Jackee Slingback Sandals

They did not have them in all the girls sizes, so sadly we had to move on.
We have now purchased the girls different shoes that match their outfits PERFECTLY! They are American Eagle Sandals. Lovely shoes really.

So now, I am looking for shoes for me... and I STILL AM IN LOVE with the Slingbacks. But they are nowhere to be found.

In any size.

At all.

What a life?! I just want those shoes under my wedding dress..

I want those shoes.

Twice Baked Headache

Last night I attempted some Twice Baked Potatoes. WHAT A HEADACHE THEY WERE. I couldn't get the potatoe to scoop out without breaking the skin of the potatoe. I was getting so fed up, that I wanted to throw them on the floor. That's when Eric walked in the door from work.

He finished them.

They were good! But I didn't take any pictures to document that nightmare.

Dang - You'd think since it's summer, I'd have more time. But I am extremely busy!

Between work, summer classes, wedding planning, regular blogging and trying to fit in time to do YoungBlood stuff, I am going crazy!

But for Memorial day, Eric and I decided to have Jeff & Shelly over for some hamburgers and fun.

We did hamburgers, chips, jalepeno poppers, and deviled eggs. I had never made deviled eggs, so that was a fun experience.

Then Last night, we pulled out the Pioneer Woman Cookbook... and created:

Pico De Gallo! So good!!!

Then we tried her meatloaf. There's things I am going to try and do different next time and see if I like it better. Eric LOVED it.

Pioneer Woman Cooking Attempt

Ever since moving to Flagstaff with Eric last December, I have been on a cooking kick! heaven knows why... I never enjoyed it before. But I have started this cooking adventure and am going to pick it up a notch!

In the last two months, I have mastered

Shrimp caprese pasta (similar to Olive Gardens),

Chicken Lettece Wraps (Similar to Pei Wei),

Eric's Favorite: Orange Chicken (that tastes better than Panda Express),

& my favorite: Jambalaya (yes - canjun flavoring and all)

I've been in search of the perfect cookbook. Something that isn't going to be completely challenging, and something most cookbooks I found didnt contain...

FOOD ERIC AND I WILL EAT!

I came across the "Pioneer Woman's Cookbook" at Barnes and Nobel. I knew my mom had the book, and followed her blog. Also, I flipped through it, and it was full of stuff that we will eat!!!

I have decided that I want to try and make every recipe in her book - because it is the perfect cookbook!

Also, in stores I can't stay out of the kitchen section, and everytime I find myself at a store, I get SO EXCITED for Eric and I to register!!!

But last night Eric and I decided to make:

Jalepeno Poppers, Malboro Man Sandwich (with the breana twist - making it basically Philly Cheese Steak), and Creme Brulee.

Wanna See?!?!!

We Started with the Creme Brulee because it would take 2 hours to refridgerate.

The recipe calls for 10 egg yokes.

I had never gotten the yoke out of an egg before, so we lost a few to the sink drain.

Then we did the Jalepeno Poppers.

Half of them with cream cheese, and half without - because I dont like creme cheese.

Lastly the Philly Cheese Steak:

This last weekend, my dad came up and took a few engagement pictures in Flagstaff for us. We are going down to mesa next weekend to take real engagement pictures with Annie Randall. I'm so excited, except I can't find a FREAKING SHIRT for Eric to wear to with one of the two outfits!

The Grand Caynon

(That is a picture of the forest on the way to the Grand Canyon, I thought it made for a great picture because it casts on life & death in the woods).

ERIC & I WENT TO THE GRAND CANYON!

Then we hiked down the canyon a little ways, but didn't go too far because it was really muddy. We are talking about hiking down to the bottom in a couple weeks, and camping out then for a day or two (i'll probably only last a day). That'd be fun!

This is rock drawing things, that tribes of the old days used to draw in the rocks as calenders and journals and what-not. Pretty neat huh? Right here in the grand canyon, someone colored the walls!

On the way home from the Grand Canyon, there were cars stopped in front of us on the Highway because the reindeer, Dasher was dashing across the road. Haha, they were cute, and I managed to take what I thought to be a great picture! I should sell it, or become professional!
This one is good too.
I say all of this, because I am taking a photography class right now, that is required for my advertising minor, and I hate it! I am freaking terrible at figuring out all the iso/shutter speeds/apature crapola. (The sad part is though, I'm still better than a lot of people who call themselves good). Hahaha

By the way BLOG WORLD, I am in the public library right now, suppost to be doing homework, and if that wasn't bad enough, the woman sitting next to me is chopping her gum... oh heavens! lol.

Weekend

This weekend, my family came up. We had a great time. It started with a BIRTHDAY PARTY for me! Jealous much?

But, no-one showed up for my party....

Then, the pizza took an hour and a half to show up.

BUT We all had a great time playing games at my party.

The next day Brittney & Jon joined us and we went sledding!

Terrific Thursday

This week was SPRING BREAK. Luckily, Eric & I had 1 day where neither of us had to work or anything, so we got to spend the entire Thursday together! It was lovely. We started the day off right with a hearty breakfast picnic in the car.

Then we decided to go down to Sedona for a few hours and look at the church in the rocks! Which I always think it was cool.

Then we came back up and ate Mac & Cheese, Played Dominoes with Cori, and then left again to Apartment hunt! Trying to find a nicer place than the Ridge, for the same price... it was a dissapointing hunt. :(

After the apartment hunt, we went out with some friends to dinner & to see Alice & Wonderland 3D. Tiffany & I thought it was awesome! Eric didnt really like it, neither did Eddie.

Funny story about them though. Eddie works with Eric at his (relatively) new job at Wells Fargo. And when we first moved up to Flagstafff, we saw Eric's (ex-by divorce) Cousin, working at Chase Bank. But he hadnt seen her in years so we just noticed from a distance.

Then Eric went to hang out with Eddie at his apartment one day, when he saw pictures all over the place of his COUSIN TIFFANY, (that works at chase bank). Small world huh!! I think Eric is in love with Eddie, and might be leaving me soon. They get so excited to see each other! It's kinda cute, for like a second. Haha.

So they think they're ment to be friends. All three of them work at a bank. And im the one trying to tell them how the 3-D glasses takes the flat screen and make a 3-D picture.

Dress & Chairs

I went to vegas on Saturday with Brittney too look at dresses. We drove there, spent an hour and a half, trying on dresses, and then I found the one I wanted!! Then drove back. ha 8 hours in the car... one day.

This dress here, was dress number 2 in love rank. Love the bow!!! Love the bottom, but hate the top...

The dress I ended up loving everything about, I bought. Naturally, no pictures will be posted. BUT...
I love it.
I'm so excited, it is perfect!

Also, John made the chairs that my wedding will be based around. He finished 1 of 3 chairs. It's perfect!! Just needs to be painted blue now.

I guess a week and few days ago Desert Ridge High School had their homecoming game. DR invited all the alumni to come back and cheer for a quarter of the game. I didn't really want to do it, but (those of you who know my mom will understand) had to do it. It wasnt bad. Brandi is on JV cheer, and they were cheering there, a couple of my cousins were doing it (they had a little girls cheer camp thing-a-magiger). Then Brittney, Candice, Tiffany, Kasse, Stephanie S. and others were there. It was a good time. And quite the work out.. haha!

My Dad took me and my sisters to go see the musical Wicked last night at ASU Gammage. We had an opportunity to see it a couple of years ago in Chicago but, we didnt know what it was about and decided against it. We have regretted it ever since, so we were so excited to hear that they were bringing it to Tempe for a couple of weeks. It was such an awesome show and we had such a great time! I am now totally addicted and am on the Wicked bandwagon for life!

MIA Rabbit

Brock loves to pet the Rabbits, and the Rabbits love the attention from him. There is only two rules when I am not home.

1. Don't take them out when I am not home.
2. REMEBER Shut the gate to their cage when you are done.

Of course... #2 rarely happens and I always get an annoyed text from my mom about them running around upstairs, or a giggly one from Brandi about how she had to scare them back into their cage.

Well, last night I got the annoyed one from my mom and to our surprise when I got home I was informed that one of the Rabbits had gone missing.

The thing about Rabbits is they are terrified of anything and everyone. I think they think you want to hunt them. So whenever someone comes around, they try and hide. That means tucked in a corner, or under a pile of crap.

This morning, Hugh still has not turned up. I have looked in every corner of every room. Hopefully, he will start to get hungry and he will find his way back to his cage... Otherwise whosever room he's camping in, is going to get very stinky!

My mother keeps pestering me about how I don't post anything. I don't have anything to post about. BUT NOW i think I might...

In about T-8 days, I will be 20 years old. I don't feel 20. I don't think 20 is old, but I think that it's a big number. We frown on people who eat 20 pieces of cake. Or, make strange faces at someone with 20 kids. It's not old, it's just a big number...

Also, I bought Tagalongs at work yesterday. We were doing a Peak event outside of Bashas. And I saw them. And I bought them. The end.

Clear Channel

Today while President-Elect Obama, was being sworn into Office with his 58-million dollar party, I was sitting in a room, being told I was 1 of 1500 people being laid off.

Working for clear channel was incredible. It's been a rough 6 months being home. And I was finally starting to find a nitch, when WAM! Clear Channel decides that there will be no "part-time Employees" nor "promotions" any longer.

I knew that Clear Channel would be laying people off today... but I didn't think that the dirt they pay me would cause me to have to worry about my job. It's funny because not four days ago, I was asking a friend/co-worker why Clear Channel paid me to play with their toys. And a few weeks go, my mom asked me how work was, and I told her I was falling in love with it. But apparently anytime Breana enjoys what she does, it needs to be removed.

Atleast when Gannett laid me of, I felt like they actually cared about me. Clear Channel was laying off most my co-workers via telephone calls.

Shit Happens. The economy is really rough. It's the timing. I know. Just how many times am I going to be laid off, before we figure out an answer to this damn depression? AND why does it always have to be me, and the jobs I love? (Selfish, I know... but twice in 6-months...)

Scottsdale vs Teeth

Originally, Thursday January 8th I was suppose to get my wisdom teeth pulled. In doing so, I got Thursday, Friday, and Saturday off both Clear Channel and Inflated Greetings.

Melissa (Dad's Wife), works for a dentist. Naturally, we do all our dental work through whichever doctor she is working for that quarter. So, I made the appointment, took the time off, was about to arrange a ride to and from, when I was informed I would NOT be put out for the operation.

For a few weeks, I mention this LITTLE detail to anyone who will listen. Some people said that it wasn't a big deal, but most were shocked at the idea of me lying awake during the surgery. Here was the plan:

Thursday - Surgery

Friday - Breana's Passing

Monday - Breana's Funeral

I wasn't looking forward to the 24-hour period of suffering before I passed, but you can't always help when you die!

Needless to say, I decided I would not lay in a chair while they did the operation. Yes, I know I would not have felt a thing, But I would have heard everything, seen bloody hands, and worse of all, KNOWN what was going on. I couldn't think about what they were doing while they did it. So the appointment was cancelled.

Grandpa & Jean were spending the week at their time-share in Scottsdale. (having a few days off) I went and spent a couple days with them. Wednesday night we stayed up until 1 in the morning playing dominoes (Chicken Foot).

On Thursday, after a couple hours of shopping ;), laying by the pool, and of course, playing Chicken Foot, we went to the ASU Basketball Game. I don't remember the last time I went to a Basketball Game I wasn't cheering at, but that was a lot of fun! Met the Owner of Ned's Crazy Subs (Ned) & one of his sons & Grandson. I think the score of that game was something like 35-15 Sundevils. It was a good time.

After the game we went back to the Resort to play more Chicken Foot. I would have

thought since they were the old ones, they'd be just as tired as I was from staying up til the wee-hours of the morning the night before. But NO! They forced me to stay up and play until 2 in the morning. It got to the point that we could not focus, nor see because we were laughing so hard (out of pure exhastedness).

Out of all the Chicken Foot games, I won only once, and Jean manage to never win... nor even come in 2nd.

The few days in Scottsdale were definitely better than the torture and death that did lay ahead for me. The only sad note is, I still have the teeth, and get to look forward to the misery at a later time.

New Years Eve:

Mix 96.9 threw a "retro dance party" just outside Monti's inside the Tempe Block Party. It took the morning techs about 5 hours to set up the broadcast equipment, the tents, and all of the banners.

It was a success though. We had a lot of people turn out for the new years party. We were on the air from 9-12 with the morning show dj, AJ.

The party brought a lot of really interesting people, to say the least.

All of whom were stoked for the new year!

It then took me, Aaron, and Katie over two hours to break down all the equipment, and take down all the banners.

But the party was a success! Mix 96.9 - Best Mix of 80's 90's & Today.
